Formosa in Ink and Color: Paintings from the NMH Collection

This exhibition, Formosa in Ink and Color, presented the reproduction of 25 pieces of Taiwanese landscape paintings in ink and color along with the images of the painting “Formosa Evergreen” to set the atmosphere for the gallery. The exhibition highlights the various aspects of landscape in Taiwan from the perspectives of different artists and traces the aesthetic senses within the creation of ink and color paintings in Taiwan. The gallery is divided into different sections of the green hue: the jade green for the humanities and art of the North, the forest green for the mountainous terrain in the Center, the emerald green for the abundance of agricultural produce in the South, and the sea green for the embrace of mountains and seas in the East. We hope visitors can sojourn in the soothing green gallery and enjoy the iconic images of “evergreen” of the Taiwanese landscape paintings.
